A 14-Ft Robot Controlled Traffic In Indore And It’s First of It’s Kind!

Indore is trying to mark its name almost in every field, after being deemed as the cleanest city by the Swachh Survekshan-2017, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh has made another breakthrough and this is surely one of its first in Indian history.

Indore has become the first ever city to install a life-size robot to control traffic jam in India. Isn’t that just great? Well, the traffic police of Indore associated with a private engineering college to make this happen and finally they have successfully installed a 14-ft metallic robot at a busy MR 9 intersection to manage the traffic.

To our surprise, the robot looks flawless and is one hell of a sight. It has been manufactured and designed by two professors of Shri Venkteshwar Institute of Technology, Rahul Tiwari and Aniruddh Sharma. Both these geniuses took 2 years to develop this robot and Rs. 15 lakhs to complete this project.

The range DIG of Indore, Harinarayanchari Mishra has stated:

THE EXPERIMENT HAS BEEN QUITE SUCCESSFUL IN CONTROLLING TRAFFIC, IN AN OTHERWISE CHOCK-A-BLOCK STREET.

A former inspector general of police, VK Agnihotri, stated that the concept is good and it would make the progress error free. He added that it would also ensure issuance of challans to those who violate traffic rules.

Well, putting a Robot that is 14-ft tall garnered not only attention of many people around the signal, most of them actually stopped to have a good look and admire what an amazing achievement it is.

While most of the people in the city are happy to see the progress of their city some of them are looking at it with disappointment and considering it as a waste of money.

Nandini Sunder, a resident stated:

“WHY PEOPLE WOULD ABIDE BY THE INSTRUCTIONS OF A ROBOT WHEN THEY DO NOT EVEN LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS OF A COP. IT APPEARS TO BE NOT MORE THAN AN ENTERTAINING TOOL.”

Well, only time would tell if it’s a brilliant idea or just an entertaining tool. PATRIKA MADHYA PRADESH, released a video where you can catch the glimpse of robot working as traffic police.

It sure looks gigantic and we really hope this experiment turns out a success as it would be a great step forward in Indian Traffic Controlling as well as technology.

All The Best Indore!
