30 kg Gold Robbed From Gold Loan Firm In Mumbai And 4 Other Updates!

1. Jewellery Worth Rs 9 Crore Has Been Stolen From Gold Loan Firm’s Office Wall In Mumbai!

On Monday, Burglars broke into the safe of Manappuram Finance’s gold loan branch in Ulhasnagar in Thane district and stole Gold jewelry weighing 30 kg. The robbery is said to happen at night and the prime suspect is the security guard of the building in which the firm’s ground-floor office is located. CCTV footage from 2 am shows two masked men entered in the firm’s office after which the footage goes blank. Police suspect that more men were involved. The burglars entered through the duct area and cut a 3-ft-wide hole in the bathroom’s wall using a gas cutter. They broke the bathroom doors to enter the main office and robbed the firm’s locker.

2. Cricketer Samit Gohel Made History By Smashing An Unbeaten Triple Ton.

Samit Gohel, the opening batsman of Gujrat carved history as he scored an unbeaten 359 runs in a Ranji Trophy match against Odisha on Tuesday. He smashed his total in 723 balls including  45 fours and one six. His valuable innings took his team to a score of 641. Samit now holds the record of scoring maximum runs carrying his bat throughout the innings by an opening batsman under his name in the first class cricket.

3. Government Canceled FCRA Licences of 20,000 NGOs.

Licenses of almost  20,000 of 33,000 NGOs have been canceled after these NGOs were found to be allegedly violating various provisions of the FCRA. Home Minister Rajnath Singh conveyed the information during a review of the Foreigners Division of the Home Ministry on Tuesday. Only 13,000 NGOs in the country are legally valid now and the canceled NGOs have also been barred from receiving foreign funds.

4. Dogs Ate A Foreigner’s Body in Bihar.

On Tuesday, a shocking incident took place as stray dogs ate the body of a foreign tourist kept outside the post-mortem room at a Bihar hospital. The reason behind the incident is said to be the negligence of health officials. The foreigner was a Bhutanese woman Pema Choden, who was killed in a road accident in Begusarai on Monday.

5. Kozhikode To Build Museum For Legendary Singer Mohammed Rafi.

Legendary Bollywood singer  Mohammed Rafi was born near Amritsar and gained popularity in Mumbai but Kozhikode in the deep south is going to make a museum for him in coming year.  Rafi’s fans in Kerala city have decided to build a museum where his rare photos, albums and LP records will be displayed and his entire collection of songs will be gathered. Mohammed Rafi Foundation based in Kozhikode has taken this project and the museum will open for the public by July 31 2017.
