1. 24 CRPF Jawans Killed In An Encounter In Chhatisgarh

On Monday, 24 CRPF Jawans were killed and 6 six injured in a deadly encounter with Naxalites in Sukma district of Chhatisgarh. This horrific incident occurred at around 12.25 pm in south Bastar, which is known to be one of the worst Maoist violence-affected regions in the state. The jawans belonged to the 74th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and were deployed in the area for anti-Maoist operations.

2. PDP Leader Abdul Gani Dar Shot Dead in Pulwama, Kashmir.

Abdul Gani Dar, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) district President for Pulwama, shot dead by terrorists at Pinglan area of Pulwama District. He was shot, while heading towards Srinagar, and was immediately admitted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries and lost his life. As per reported in Times of India, Abdul Gani was shot in the chest and this is said to be the second attack on PDP leaders in last two weeks.

3. Chhota Rajan and 3 Others, Convicted In Fake Passport Case.

Chhota Rajan and 3 other Government officials were convicted by Delhi Court today in a fake passport case. The court first framed charges against Chhota Rajan and 3 officials, Deepak Natvarlal Shah, Lalitha Lakshmanan and Jayashree Dattaray Rahate, under sections of Indian Penal Code dealing with Criminal Conspiracy, cheating and forgery of documents. The CBI, in their charge sheet, alleged that Chhota Rajan got issued fake passport from Bengaluru in 1998-99 with the help of Lakshmanan, Rahate and Shah.

4. Delhi’s Iconic Hall of Nations Building Demolished.

Delhi’s iconic, Hall of Nations Building in Pragati Maidan was demolished on Sunday night. The building was made to celebrate the 25 years of Independence and designed by Raj Rewal in 1972. As reported by The Hindu, the building was demolished after the Delhi High Court dismissed the petition to preserve the structure, by the architect.
