Gulzar, as soon as this name appears, a massive outpouring of significant writings comes to mind. Sampooran Singh Kalra aka Gulzar has always been a wizard of words and his writings are so profound that they can transport your mind to another universe, where life is just mesmeric. Born in Jhelum District in British India, to a Kalra Sikh family, Gulzar started his writing career under the film directors Bimal Roy and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. In no time his career as a lyricist kicked off and his first song “Mora Gora Ang Layle” was, with none other than legendary composer, Sachin Dev Burman.
Since then Gulzar has been webbing words in many magical ways and it is needless to say that he shapes them well enough to be carved on one’s heart. Over the years, he has written many songs and some of them were just exceptional. His creations have made us realize that, you can find solace in words and sometimes even the simplest words hold deeper meanings.
