‘Rustom’, the trailer is out and Akshay Kumar once again brought the brilliance of his acting and action on screen. Akshay is playing ‘Rustom Pavri’ in the movie who is a dedicated Navy officer in India and is very happy with his idyllic married life. Ileana D’Cruz is playing the English-born wife of Akshay. Now imagine yourself in a relationship which you believe is perfect and one day you discover that your perfect relation was a lie. Your partner whom you trusted more than your life is cheating on you. That’s the major twist of ‘Rustom’. Akshay finds out that Ileana is cheating on him with a family friend and shoots her lover.
When the court hearing starts he refuses to be guilty and decides to fight for the justice. In doing so, he threatens to disclose the major secrets of Indian Navy. The story is inspired by true story of Commander KM Nanavati and his wife Sylvia. Nanavati shot his wife’s lover Prem Ahuja and got involved in court battles subsequent to Prem’s death. Prem’s sister Mamie Ahuja fought hard to get Nanavati hanged but with the support of Media, public and Military, Nanavati was released after 3 years from prison. Though the makers of ‘Rustom’ have added the masala of him being a traitor and some other aspects in the film but they have kept that one factor intact to the story that makes the Nanavati case most fascinating of all – It Led To End The Jury System In India.

In the real story, Nanavati went to live in Canada with his wife and their three children and passed away in 2003 but in the movie the makers have presented it in an interesting way. Though we are not sure but it seems like the makers have turned this story in an undercover operation. True or not, the story of the movie will keep you glued to the screen until the end of the trailer. The movie features Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’cruz, Arjan Bajwa and Esha Gupta in key roles.
‘Rustom’ is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and is slated to release on 12 August 2016.
