‘Pehli Dafa’: Atif Aslam’s New Song Resembles Iconic ‘Tu Jaane Na’!

‘Pehli Dafa’, the song which I thought will be controversial (for obvious Pakistani artists ban) is released peacefully. No, I am not complaining but I am wondering where are those self-proclaimed nationalists who always come out to reap some attention and create unnecessary chaos. However, the song ‘Pehli Dafa’ features Atif Aslam and Ileana D’cruz in the video and as much as I was waiting to listen to the romantic voice of Atif, I am quite disappointed. Why?

Well, first, because there is nothing refreshing in the lyrics and the tune is just like thousand other romantic tunes, the melody of ‘Pehli Dafa’ didn’t strike the right chords of my heart and second, the video is far more disappointing than the audio. The visuals remind me of iconic song ‘Tu Jaane Na’ and I can’t help comparing Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif to Atif Aslam and Ileana D’cruz. The comparison reminds me why Kat and Ranbir were perfect as a couple and that makes Atif and Ileana look dysfunctional couple. Though the make-up and costume of Ileana are right on point but her expressions are way too much loud for the soft song like ‘Pehli Dafa’.

Now, you must be thinking that I am a Pakistani artists’ hater but that is not true. I am a die hard fan of music not the artists and ‘Pehli Dafa’ is just not the song which I can connect with, so it has nothing to do with my nationality.

T-series has released the song which is composed by Shiraz Uppal, crooned in the melodious voice of Atif Aslam and penned by Shakeel Sohail.
