“Mehram” is the first song unveiled from upcoming thriller ‘Kahaani 2’ in which Vidya Balan is playing the lead character of Durga Rani Singh. The movie is the sequel of ‘Kahaani’ and audience is hoping to see some breathtaking mystery in ‘Kahaani 2’ as they did in the prequel.
“Mehram” is a soft romantic number but the video exhibits two sides of Vidya Balan, one as mother and other as a romantic companion.
“Mehram” captures the intensity of love of a mother for her daughter on one hand and on other it displays the silent affection of a woman towards a man. In some sequences, she is playing, painting and teaching her daughter, the shots are so heart warming that if you are living away from your home you will surely miss your mother. Some other shots capture Vidya Balan as a silent lover. Most of the shots of the video are included as an imaginary sequence in the movie as Arjun Rampal is reading Vidya’s story in her diary and imagining what might have happened. “Mehram” will make a place in your heart in no time.

The song is rendered by Arijit Singh and his soothing voice enhanced the quality of the song. The music given by Clinton Cerejo compliments the lyrics of Amitabh Bhattacharya perfectly. ‘Kahaani 2’ is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and the mystery will unfold in theaters on 2nd December 2016.
