The morning of 2017 has been pretty dope for Los Angeles as the city woke up to a dramatic change. The 94-year-old iconic sign on the side of Mount Lee that says ‘Hollywood’ was altered overnight and read “Hollyweed” on the morning of 1 January 2017.
An individual alone changed the sign on the night of 31 January 2016, the Police Department’s Security Services division said that it was the work of a prankster or a thrill seeker, and the investigation regarding the trespassing has been conducted.
The security footage reveals that the iconic sign was changed after midnight on Saturday, but Sgt. Guy Juneau of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Security Services division (LAPD) still has no suspects.
People believe that some marijuana lover changed the sign to celebrate California’s new marijuana law. California voted to legalize recreational marijuana for adults in November.
Where California was gulping the surprise and thanking the person who changed the sign, marijuana lovers across the country, including Snoop Dogg a noted cannabis consumer took twitter to express how they felt when they saw ‘HOLLYWOOD‘ changed to ‘HOLLYWEED‘
