Tom Hanks Is Back With A Mega Release: Finch!

A robot. Yeah, that’s right. A dog. Well, that’s also right. And in between them, Tom Hanks. And all of them together against the great nadir of our times: climate change.

Whoever came up with the concept of the yet-to-be-released Hollywood big-budget release Finch surely is a genius.

But hey, here’s the thing, if in case, you didn’t notice. Here’s the thing about Tom Hanks. He’s that guy who’s so often stuck, isn’t he?

Remember Chuck Noland of FedEx in Castaway? Remember Captain Richard Phillips in Captain Phillips? Then, there was Sully, who landed the plane on the Hudson. And then, the famous symbiologist stuck in a mythical-meets-historical-meets thriller narrative in The Da Vinci Code?

What’s it now? Is Tom Hanks stuck again?

Hell, yeah!

Only this time, he’s got a dog and a robot, believe it or not in a massive struggle against Climate Change.

How’s that for some storyline?

The following is what Gizmodo had to say about the movie basis its trailer that released recently:

t’s all very cute, especially when said robot and pooch begin slowly bonding (albeit grimly because Finch needs someone to look after his dog when he eventually passes), but it’s not all happy doggo/robo bonding time. It looks like Finch is going to at least have some pretty intense moments of action as the unlikely trio tries to RV their way through tornadoes and more dangerous elements of human society left behind in the wake of the flare.

Staying true to the changing times, Tom Hanks, the evergreen superstar, an actor first and last, never a pretender or poser has gone from being a screen idol to being a massively exciting prospect for the OTH platform.

Had Hanks, one supposes would not have thought of the platform as being anything interesting, why’d he have gone toward “Over the Top” entertainment.

What we have amidst us is a massively interesting, well that’s what the trailer seems to convey Tom Hanks film, something that Gizmodo further elaborated on in saying, a new post apocalyptic movie with Tom Hanks who’s no stranger to working with dogs (think of Turner and Hooch).

This film is directed by Game of Thrones’ Miguel Sapochnik. Set after a solar flare devastated Earth with multiple climate disasters, Finch follows the titular character as he hides from the storm-ravaged surface in a high-tech bunker. Scavenging the remnants of human civilization, Finch finds a canine companion to provide him company away from whatever’s left of humanity. But when a devastating new storm threatens to wipe out the bunker and leave both of them dead, Finch has no choice but to begin planning their escape…by building a robot that can help them traverse the wastes of America, of course.
