Ant-Man that first released in 2015 somehow didn’t saw as big of a success as other Marvel’s offbeat comic territory like Guardians Of The Galaxy, but it did make an impact. Since then, Ant-Man was seen again in the Captain America: Civil War in which he chooses Captain America’s side and risked being imprisoned and labeled as a terrorist.
He has stopped being Ant-Man ever since, but as the Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer starts, Paul Rudd (Scott Lang) is seen telling her daughter about how he is back to being Ant-Man for a mission by Dr. Hank Pym. As explained by the makers, here’s a small summary of the movie, “In the aftermath of ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Superhero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.”
Apart from cool moments by Ant-Man, the trailer of this new movie shows that The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) also gets a fair share of screen time, along with kickass adventures, in comparison to the Ant-Man, something that was missing in the last movie. And, we for one are not at all complaining about it. The Wasp is so cool and we can’t even begin to describe her awesomeness, as shown in the trailer.
Both the heroes unite to fight the villain of the movie, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). Though not much of Ghost is shown in the trailer or its identity, there’s something very intriguing about its existence. Introduced in Iron Man No. 219 in 1987, little is known about Ghost’s true identity but his power set of invisibility and intangibility has made him a sought-after tool for spy work and corporate sabotage. Ant-Man and the Wasp change Ghost’s gender, and presumably her origin, but it looks like her powers will remain the same, even if they come from a different source.
Along with this great cast, Michelle Pfeiffer is also joining the movie as Hank’s presumed-dead wife, though she can’t be spotted in the trailer for the movie.
Now let’s talk about the timeline of the movie according to Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s too much confusion about what time is the movie set in. Is it after the Infinity War or before it? If it’s before the entire Infinity War, then why the Ant-Man wasn’t in the movie and if it’s after the Infinity War then may these two would be the ones who fight against Thanos in the coming sequel of the story.
One can just think and think hard about all that is happening in the Marvel Universe. As for others, just enjoy the movie and the kickass action done by Ant-Man and The Wasp.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the movie is all set to release on July 6th, 2018.
