Reality is stranger than fiction. People often say that and it’s absolutely true in more than one instances which makes the entire thing even more intriguing. Creativity which is considered the root of each and everything in this world can fall short of the reality and most of the time, sadly the instances are not very positive.
Arushi murder case, which began in 2008 and still goes on, is one of the most confusing and never-ending case Indian judiciary ever has to come face-to-face with. Everything that might lead to a resolved case was destroyed by the lack of awareness and ethics in the police that handled the case, and soon everything about the Arushi murder case went downhill. From caretaker to parents everyone was considered a criminal in the case, sadly, no one has yet been named the one.
The story was so intriguing and confusing that a movie just had to be made on it and so it did. Talvar was made on the Arushi murder case and it was well received by the audience, both in monetary and non-monetary basis.
Now, the makers have decided to take forward the franchise with Talvar 2 which will now be based on the recent Ryan International Murder Case. The murder case shocked the nation last year with an unfortunate start and end. The case involved a murder of a 7-year-old in the school bathroom. While the blame was first put on the conductor of the school bus, the truth later came and again shook the nation. The murderer was no conductor but actually, a senior who wanted something big to happen in school just so the exams shift.
Talvar was directed by Meghna Gulzar, while the screenplay for the movie was written by Vishal Bhardwaj. Now, Bhardwaj has been roped in to write and direct the Talwar 2.
Vishal Bhardwaj spoke about the film and said, “Talvar was about much more than the heinous crime itself, the film holds up a mirror to society and exposed several loopholes in the system. Such crimes shake the very moral fabric of society and need to be analysed in a much deeper sense. The world is not just black and white, there’s more to a crime than just victim and perpetrator. That’s why we have decided to continue making true crime procedurals like Talvar,” as reported by The Indian Express.
The film is produced by Junglee Pictures and the team is equally excited about Talvar 2.
Apart from Talvar 2, Vishal Bhardwaj is currently working on his next project Chhuriyaan which stars Sanya Malhotra (of Dangal fame), Radhika Manan, Vijay Raaz and Sunil Grover.
