Sajjan Singh Rangroot Trailer: Diljit Dosanjh Looks Impeccable As A World War I Soldier

Diljit Dosanjh can certainly be considered one of the most talented actors in the country, and certainly in the Punjabi film industry. While he has always been appreciated for his roles in light-hearted rom-coms and his songs, the world truly got to knew about his acting talent through his roles in intense movies.

Adding to that intense circa, Diljit Dosanjh and Speed Records on Tuesday released the much-awaited Sajjan Singh Rangroot trailer. Much-awaited due to the intense and amazing storyline that it comes with.

The Sajjan Singh Rangroot trailer opens up to a written text that reads, “Our history is what makes us who we are and our kids should know that.”

This Punjabi movie traces the formidable journey of Indian British Army’s Lahore regiment as it takes on the German forces during the World War I. Fighting for the Army was not enough for these people, they knew their lives were not important to their colonisers and along with war they had to face alienation, discrimination, and loss of too many lives. The period drama is based on the experiences of Sikh regiments on the front lines of the war.

Dosanjh plays the role of Sajjan Singh, a polo aficionado, was a British Indian Army officer and Maharaja of Ratlam State, ruling from 1893-1947. He served on the Western Front during WWI.

Along with Diljit Dosanjh, Sajjan Singh Rangroot also has Yograj Singh, Jagjeet Sandhu, Dheeraj Kumar and Jarnail Singh. The film also marks the Punjabi film debut of singer Sunanda Sharma.

Dosanjh in various interviews has called this movie as his dream project, for which he underwent a lot of work and struggles. Even though the film has not yet been labeled to be a biopic, it indeed works on the lines of true-events.

Directed by Pankaj Batra, Sajjan Singh Rangroot is set for a March 23, 2018, release.
