Twitter is an amazing place where something interesting and amazing is always happening. Apart from that, Twitter is also the place that binds all sorts of people together. From celebrities to politicians to even authorities, everyone is well connected and aware of what’s happening around them, without much problem.
One of the handles on Twitter using the platform for great use is Mumbai Police. They’re constantly reaching out the people of Mumbai and solving their problems while being accessible. Along with that, Mumbai Police also uses its Twitter to fine those who deserve it. One of the recent addition to the long list of celebrities that Mumbai Police has fined publicly, through Twitter is Kunal Khemu.
A couple of days ago, actor Kunal Khemu was photographed in Bandra riding a stylish bike, looking all good. Except he wore a cap instead of a helmet. Thus, the actor has been fined by the Mumbai Police for breaking the law. A digital invoice has been sent to the star, the authorities tweeted.
It all happened after few pictures of the actor riding a bike without a helmet first surfaced on Twitter. Majorly taken by an entertainment website, a Twitter user brought Mumbai Police’s attention to the images, after which they decided to give him a challan.
However, before the Mumbai Police, Kunal himself took note of his wrongdoing and apologised on the micro-blogging site.
“I have seen this picture out there and honestly it’s very embarrassing given I love bikes and ride regularly and always with a helmet and some more gear but whether it’s a long ride or just next door a helmet should always be worn.apologies I don’t want to set the wrong example!” he tweeted with the photos.
To which Mumbai Police again reverted with a reminder of his forgetfulness, along with an e-challan notice.
This is not the first time when a Bollywood celebrity has been called out by the Mumbai police on their action, publicly on Twitter. In November 2017, Mumbai Police also fined Varun Dhawan for breaking traffic rules after he got out of his car to click a selfie with a fan, all in the middle of a busy road. The photo immediately went viral and reached Mumbai Police’s timeline.
