We know that the world is changing and more men are coming forward to support women and their empowerment. Probably, that’s the reason the Ram Gopal Verma went ahead and chose this topic to make his first short movie ‘Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chaahti Hai’, but he really shouldn’t have. Why?
Well, sir, you have completely misunderstood the idea of women empowerment or your writer gave you the worst dialogues to explain it in ‘Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chaahti Hai’. The movie starts on a decent note where the daughter reveals that she wants to be a pornstar like SunnyLeone. Obviously, her parents are shocked and trying to convince her but then it becomes blunder as she states the most confusing reason for “Why she should be allowed to choose her career and take all the important decisions of her life regardless of what people think.”
Don’t believe us well how about this dialogue “Ek Aurat Ki Sabse Badi Value Hai Uski Sundarta Or Sex Appeal”. Yeah! That’s right, this is one of many baseless reasons, this girl states in this short movie. Dear sir, seriously what the hell you are trying to convey through this? Because we couldn’t get the crux. One thing that I want to say as a woman is that yes, I want to live my life as I want and I want to pursue my choices without being judged but I am a person who knows that India and It’s society is developing that space for women in their mind slowly and it will take time. I am not afraid of my choices or my sexuality but I am damn sure that I would never want to consider myself as an object.
