Julie first released in 2004, and it was about a woman who moves to Mumbai after a heartbreak. However, due to certain situations, she ends up being a high profile prostitute in the city. Starring Neha Dhupia and Priyanshu Chatterjee, Julie was a disaster and in no sense deserved a sequel. However, former CBFC Chairman, Pahlaj Nihalani didn’t think so.
Julie 2 trailer is here and this is the second trailer for the movie released by the makers. The first Julie 2 trailer already showed that this was nothing but another movie on one of Bollywood’s favourite concept, of it being a bad industry where everyone has to comprise in order to reach somewhere. While the original Julie ended up with Neha Dhupia becoming a prostitute, this one somehow ends up in a celebrity murder, at least that’s what the trailer shows.
Starring Raai Laxmi, Ravi Kishen, Rati Agnihotri, Aditya Srivastava, Sahil Salathia and Pankaj Tripathi, Julie 2 is produced and directed by Deepak Shivdasani and is presented by Pahlaj Nihalani. Julie 2 has been passed by the CBFC board with zero cuts and an A certificate, something utterly impossible in Nihalani’s times. When Nihalani was asked about peddling soft porn to audiences, Nihalani shot back saying, “Soft porn or soft corn, or harsh reality. Let the film release. The world will know.”
