IMDb Ranked Dangal No. 1 In China

Aamir Khan is a perfectionist who doesn’t scare away from going that extra mile for his movies. This has been proven in many of his recent movies and their success is not only limited to Bollywood or even Indian audience. Aamir Khan’s movies have been able to gather a huge audience in both India and overseas, especially China.

China has, again and again, proved that they completely adore Indian cinema, notably, Aamir Khan driven cinema. The trend started with 3 Idiots which became a huge hit in China, all thanks to a similar narrative followed in China. Then came PK, and then arrived one of 2016’s major blockbusters, Dangal.

Based on the real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his daughters to International wrestling. This Nitesh Tiwari directorial not only gathered a lot of praises and box office collections in India but also went on to become a massive hit in China.

Aamir Khan received a larger than life welcome in China, while he went over there for promotional activities. From airport to studios, every place was jam-packed with Aamir Khan’s fans who wanted to see the actor in real-life. The same happened with his movie, Dangal became a massive hit in China.

Dangal also starred Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Sakshi Tanwar and Suhani Bhatnagar.

Now, according to reports, the super-hit flick has been ranked number one in an annual survey conducted by the Chinese IMDb. ‘Dangal’ is the first film to witness overseas collections at par with domestic markets. Apart from China, Dangal also did exceptionally well in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Taiwan and other such countries.

Previously in July, a spokesperson confirmed that ‘Dangal’ has crossed Rs 2,000 crore mark worldwide, a first for a Bollywood movie.

Along with this, Dangal also bagged the Best Asian Film award at the seventh Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) last year. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi shared the news on social media, who was also a part of the jury.

Aamir Khan is now working for his next release, Thugs Of Hindostan which has a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Shashank Arora. The film is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya is expected to have an early November release. Every Aamir Khan fan can only wish for the same Dangal-level success for Thugs of Hindostan.
