Amitabh Bachchan And Akshaye Khanna To Act Together In Aankhen 2!

On the one hand is a famously intense and stylishly suave performer. And on the other hand, is a legendary figure. A fatherly figure of Indian cinema. Rather, let’s call him the reason why a country obsessed with movies looks forward to movies. And although, the only time where these two forces locked horns didn’t exactly set the Bollywood cash-register ringing or caused fireworks in the skies- Deewar: let’s bring our heroes home- this time around, news of their collaboration promises something stunning and exciting.

In major Bollywood news, the iconic Amitabh Bachchan and the reclusive Akshaye Khanna are confirmed to be joining forces again, in a film collaboration that shall go on the floors soon this summer.

Confirmed news from the industry sources suggests that even good looking stud Sidhath Malhotra is all set to join the acting bandwagon in forming a trinity that looks formidable for all intents and purposes.

And the name of the flick, which simply by the looks of the star-cast seems unavoidably exciting, is Aankhen. This, of course, will be the second installment of the famous comedy-action-drama that became a household name starring none other than the other Akshay, one with a higher bank balance and bigger budget movies: “Khiladi Kumar,” Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and of course, Mr. Bachchan himself.

But what’s fascinating is the fact that for the first time ever film goers shall see a very interesting acting trinity formed by Akshaye Khanna, Sidharth Malhotra, and Shri Amitabh Bachchan, cine artistes that belong to an exciting acting pedigree and varying age groups.

That being said, what’s also been confirmed is that Aankhein 2 will go on the floors in the month of May, not too long from now!

Surely, anyone who said that after the chaotic, pandemic-marred 2020, the new year was going to be a very enterprising one wasn’t wrong- isn’t it?

First impressions about the upcoming Akshaye Khanna-starrer is the fact that Aankhen 2 will be even grander, as some Bollywood publications noted.

Now apart from a completely different star-cast, one concurs this could well mean, a bigger scale, and hence, much bigger budget than its famous predecessor that was released way back in time- 2002!

Just come to think of it- it was around eighteen years back in time. But what’s not changed, this time around, however, even as the casting around the movie has changed completely, is the mega dynamite acting talent of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. And in Aankhen 2, his lead character of Vijay Singh Rajput shall be reprising his role as the leader among the blind cohorts who plan a mega heist.

This time however, together with Akshaye Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan’s character will be looting a gaming enterprise.

More importantly, among the scheduled changes for this upcoming avatar of Aankhen is the choice of locations. While the former film was largely shot in India, predominantly in Mumbai, this one, it’s been reported, will be shot across various international locations.

That being said, here’s what a source connected to the movie industry had to quote regarding the forthcoming film release, “The heist in Aankhen 2 is being planned on a grander scale. The temperamental Vijay Singh Rajput returns after serving his prison sentence and leads a new team of visually-impaired people, played by Sidharth, Akshaye and Sunil, as they rob a gaming establishment.”

While surely, the fans of Mr. Bachchan measure in millions and the new-age hot-looking Sid Malhotra has accumulated dozens of female fans, the very fact that the usually aloof Akshaye Khanna is returning back to the celluloid screen offers the reassurance of seeing an actor driven to play his part in the best of his ability, returning to do what he does best: act, not blabber!
