Akshay Kumar To Return As ‘God’ In Oh My God 2!

In an age where perhaps it may not be entirely incorrect to say that one is becoming spiritually defunct, getting depressed, and perhaps even a bit astray from reaching the depth of one’s soul, what could be better than searching for some light. Making an attempt to find god, or moving in his direction. While there are and will always be the Atheists, who do not consider the presence of god or some higher form of spiritual power to be true, thanks to those who are believers, there’s newfound depth and soul-searching in the concept of divinity.

And showing a delightful banter, light-hearted tug of war of beliefs between one who doesn’t quite believe in god and god himself, one Bollywood film that found its way into tens of thousands of hearts was Oh My God. With seasoned and much-loved actors- Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar in roles never seen before, Oh My God, a 2012-film, which has an 8+ rating on IMDB became an instant hit.

Actually a movie you can go back to, and time-and-again to discover the joy of finding faith in god, albeit in a light-hearted and fun manner.

The one man, above anything, who ensured a change of heart of the non-believer Paresh Rawal, was the superstar who played god himself- Akshay Kumar.

And guess what? Bollywood’s favorite Khiladi is now all set to return to the big screen, set to reprise the role of god in the forthcoming mighty Bollywood production- Oh My God 2.

As the title of the film suggests, this one is going to be a sequel to the famous 2012 blockbuster hit.

But what are the other details about this forthcoming film, one that can be watched, without a shred of doubt, with one’s family. A movie, that one hopes, will be even more entertaining than the first instalment.

Two talented actors Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi will be seen sharing screen space twice in a row with Bachchan Pandey and Oh My God 2. Oh My God is a hit movie directed by Umesh Shukla starring Paresh Rawal blaming god for the loss of his property. Oh My God 2 is in the process and will be directed by Amit Rai to tentatively release by August end. The cast finalized for OMG 2 is Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam with Akshay Kumar reprising his role of god in the film. The shoot will commence with lead actors Yami and Pankaj initially followed by Akshay Kumar who will start shooting from next month. Khiladi Kumar has given 15 days from his busy schedule to the film and is all set to play the character of God in part 2. Akshay will have a crucial part to play in the film like the earlier one.

Akshay being the perfectionist has the rule of doing a film between 30 to 354 days but for a film like Oh My God 2 he will only shoot for 15 to 20 days. Pankaj Tripathi has replaced actor Paresh Rawal and will come with a fresh new story. Akshay will first start the shoot of the remaining portions in the UK for Bell Bottom directed by Ranjit Tewari and then will come back to India and start with Oh My God 2.
