10 Bollywood’s Most Expensive But Flop Movies

Bollywood is a huge film industry and there are many times when earth shattering budget of a movie cannot save its bad luck on the box office. Many veteran directors have made huge projects and invested a fortune on it but somewhere may be due to bad story, boring plot, the wrong cast etc. those projects were a big fail. We know that hit and a flop is the part of Bollywood, but the bad fate of these movies does influence the talent of the actors and directors as well. These movies put them in a questionable state. Like all the movies, their trailer suggests that they are going to be a good movie like other but on Friday with the first show it comes pretty clear that every penny spend on that movie was a total waste. Sob! Sob!

There are so many flops, but some of them are so expensive that their directors even took time to get over from the shock. Why do they even make such movies? Who knows. Anyways here we have listed top 10 for you and one small advice: Next time don’t go on professed show-off.

Check Out The List Of 10 Most Expensive Bollywood Movies.

1. Besharam

Who would have believed that a talented actor like Ranbir Kapoor will act like this?

I mean what the hell was he thinking when he chose that script. It was not funny, dramatic, humorous or serious. I don’t know about others, but you will agree that the story was a puzzle and it was really hard to relate to that. However, Besharam despite being expensive was a super flop.

2. Drona

They have spent 87 crores on Abhishek Bachchan. What? I mean how can you take such risk?

First they have spent 87 crores second they have tried to make an Indian superhero with Abhishek Bachchan. I can’t decide which one was the worst idea. It was a failed attempt to execute imaginary rubbish.

3. Blue

127 crores and still the movie was unable to spread the magic of oceans on the screen. It has a strong star cast and not to forget a Kylie Minogue item number (6.6 crores).

Some great underwater shots and the glamour could not save the film. Shot in the Bahamas the movie was a flop due to its weak projection of the story.

4. Saawariya

Sanjay Leela Bhansali launched Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor with this movie and everyone was hoping it to be a great success, but the story was not happily received in the Indian market.

Shot entirely on blue- colored sets the film cost was 40 crore but still it failed to impress the audience. I guess the audiences were missing all the colors.

5. Mangal Pandey

All you can remember when you hear Mangal Pandey is Aamir Khan’s big mustaches and his long hair and a song “mangal mangal, mangal mangal”.

I don’t think you even remember the rest of the lyrics even. Anyways, Aamir took a lot of time to prepare for his look in this movie and it was one of the most awaited movies. The Film Budget was 35 crore but the idea of a freedom fighter romancing a prostitute failed to convince people.

6. Love Story 2050

Harry Baweja tried to give his son Harman Baweja a dream launch in the Bollywood, but he failed miserably.

The senseless script and unnecessary corny incidents did not make an impact and people started calling Harman a Hrithik-lookalike. This may be the reason why Priyanka Chopra broke up with Harman.

7. Asoka

It was Shah Rukh Khan’s dream project. He invested 13 crores in this film and it was a massive investment for him.

The film was not very well received and it refused to go down well. Shah Rukh’s fan and the critics both were not happy as the film was way too long and boring. Maybe the makers forgot that 3 hours include break and trailers too.

8. Kites

150 crores with a project like Kites. It was a way into International cinema.

Hrithik Roshan had a cliched script and a Mexican hottie, still the movie failed to make sense to Indian and foreign audiences and the dream was shattered.

9. Bombay Velvet

Directed by a veteran director Anurag Kashyap, no one was expected the movie will be so disappointing.

Bombay velvet was rejected by his fans and 125 crores were wasted. It became the huge mistake for the trio – Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Anurag Kashyap.

10. Shaandaar

I am sure that after the success of Queen, no one was expecting a blunder from Vikas Bahl.

He got a budget of 75 crores and despite a fresh pairing like Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt he gave us the Shaandaar disappointment. It has luxurious set and super hit songs but had no script. Dear Vikas you are not Karan Johar yet!
