Bollywood is another world itself. Along with romance and fun, it has always been famous for controversies. From actor’s off-screen personal lives to on-screen movies everything has been the part of these controversies. The Indian cinema industry is surrounded by disputes. These wars of velitations keep the industry interesting and spicy. Imagine Bollywood without any controversy. Blunt and bore. Right?

Movies are the major part of these controversies. Every time a new thought provoking or scandalous topic comes up and you can easily expect the drama either from sensor board or from some self-proclaimed fundamental group. Either ways you can feel the heat.

1. Fire

The movie was based on an entirely different theme which was lesbianism and members of Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal protested against the topic. I guess they were just not ready for “different” Indian cinema.

2. Ram Teri Ganga Maili

The actress Mandakini became talk of the town because of her “assets” flashing scenes. At that time those scenes were not normal even for audience. Well, that’s what they believed. Wink!

3. Water

The movie showcases the struggling lives of widows in ashrams. A suicide protest was organised by the activist Arun Pathak. How can a person hate a movie more than his love for his life.

4. Sins

‘Sins’ is based on a true story where a priest is romantically involved with a young woman. Shiney Ahuja starter Sins did not even promoted by the TV channels. That’s a heavy one!

5. Murder

Emraan Hashmi  and Mallika Sherawat starrer movie created a buzz because of its steamy and hot nude scenes and kisses, ( Okay Smooches). It was one of the first of its kind. 21st century effect may be.

6. Julie

Released in 1975 Julie created a lot of controversy because of its off beat theme which was pre- marital pregnancy. Being a single mother was not supported then. Was or is?

7. Nishabd

Late Jiah Khan and angry man Amitabh Bachchan starrer Nishabd was a shock for the audience as it was against ‘Indian Values’ and there was a major protest in Allahabad for the movie.

8. The Dirty Picture

The movie was inspired from the actress Silk Smitha though it was happily accepted by the audience, Silk Smitha’s brothers were not happy about it. They even sent notices to the makers of the movie. When did popularity became a crime.

9. LSD

The movie was criticized for the lyrics of one of the songs and the seven minute blurred love scene. Censor board thought it was too inappropriate. Maybe it was too hot to handle.

10. Ek Choti Si Love Story

Manisha Koirala filed a court case against the revealing scenes in the movie. The star alleged that her body double was used in the making of the movie. True or not. Keep Guessing.
