COVID 19 Claims Yet Another Actor’s Life: Bikramjeet Kanwarpal No More!

Yet another day, and yet another tragic and sad news. This time, once again from the world of film and entertainment. He was a popular face of several movies. You may remember seeing him in a plethora of entertainers, such as- Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Heyy Babyy, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Shaurya and many more. And you most certainly have seen him don both comical and dramatic avatars in countless ad films.

Alas, it brings immense sadness to inform that actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, who was also an ex-Indian Army officer, is no more. He succumbed to complications to COVID 19.

Actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal was 52 and donned several interesting and entertaining roles in front of both the big as well as the small screen.

Among the first to express dire sadness upon the news of Bikramjeet Kanwarpal’s passing was actor Neil Nitin Mukesh who had the following to say:

Extremely sad news . I’ve known Major Bikramjeet for so many years.  He and I have worked on so many films together. The last being Bypass Road. Such a fantastic, encouraging and energetic human being he was and will always be remembered as. #RIP My dear friend will miss you.

Furthermore, here is what versatile actor and multiple award winner Manoj Bajpayee had to say on Bikramjeet Kanwarpal:

“Oh my god!!! What a sad news !!! We knew each other for 14 yrs since the making of 1971 ! REST IN PEACE MAJOR !!!???? So Shocking!!!”

A handsome actor with sharp features, it must be said that Bikramjeet Kanwarpal carried a panache and exuded inner strength across a wide range of on-screen characters.

One of his most memorable roles, it could be said, came in the form of the mini-series titled Neeli Chatri Wale, aired on Zee TV from 2016 to 2017. Essaying the role of a tough corporate boss with shades of grey and humour, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal essayed an air of toughness as the boss of the lead character in the show, “Bhagwan Das Choubey,” played first by Yashpal Sharma, and later, by Rajesh Kumar.

He would be remembered for the quips and the temperamental outbursts that made the character of Inder Mohan Kalia a tough cookie, who often turned into a hard task master for the mild-mannered and kind-hearted Bhagwan Das.

Last year, the film industry lost two stalwarts and one growing sensational star in the form of Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput. And even this year, it appears that sadness has planned to strike us from all corners.

One can only hope for good days and pleasantness to retake the hold of our lives! Rest in peace Bikramjeet Kanwarpal!
