Anukreethy Vas From Tamil Nadu Is Miss India 2018, And Here’s How Twitter Reacted To The News

Anukreethy Vas was crowned the Femina Miss India 2018 title, by none other than Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar in the ceremony held on June 19, 2018, in Mumbai. Along with the home title, Anukreethy Vas also won Miss India Beautiful Smile 2018, Miss India Tamil Nadu 2018 and Miss India Fashion Icon (South) 2018.

The first and second runner-up for the title was Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana and Shreya Rao Kamavarapu from Andhra Pradesh, respectively.

Anukreethy Vas is a 19-year-old college student from Tamil Nadu who has worked hard to beat the 30 odd contestants from all across the country and won the title. Vas is currently pursuing her graduation in French, in order to fulfill her mother’s dream of becoming a translator. She has been brought up by a single mother and dreams of becoming a supermodel eventually. Anukreethy loves to sing and dance and is also a state level athlete. Her interests also include riding bikes.

Vas has always believed, “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today. So be the best version of yourself every day.” Maybe this was the attitude behind her excelling almost every competition in her Miss India journey.

Celebrities at the judges’ panel included cricketers Irfan Pathan and K L Rahul, ace fashion designer Gaurav Gupta and Bollywood actors Malaika Arora, Bobby Deol and Kunal Kapoor. The event was hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana and Karan Johar. And, actors like Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez were also present at the beauty pageant. After this, Vas will start preparing for various upcoming International beauty pageants in which she will represent India. The first one being Miss World 2018 pageant in China.
