8 Bollywood Movies That Should Have Been Sent For Oscars

Oscars, the ultimate destination, and dream for any filmmaker. It almost seems that Oscars is the final destination for any maker to reach at least once, and if you don’t come from America or Hollywood, the deal gets all the more strong. Participating, getting short listed and ultimately winning the title, is one of the most excruciating processes that a filmmaker has to deal, and frankly why not? When you tend to reach out to a million audience and get rewarded for your work from the oldest film industry in this world, the stakes do get high and something to look forward to.

Every year, film boards from all over the world send in their country’s best cinematic work to the Academy for their Best Foreign Language Film Award.

India has a total of 3 times when one of their films were selected for the nominations in the category. However, this is somehow embarrassing because India is the largest film producing industry in the world, and out of some 1500 films being produced every year, we have had just a handful of good films that are sent every year. Blame it on the criteria or something else, but every film from the past few years was just not made for the cut.

However, Indian cinema doesn’t have all the bad stuff to offer. There are some exceptionally amazing movies from India that are Oscar nomination worthy. Heck, some could have had even won the award, who knows, well we don’t because these movies were not even sent for the competition. Therefore, we decided to gather some of the most amazing movies from India that are Oscar worthy and should totally have been sent for it too.
