School is a place where young minds get enlighten with the flame of education. For this, good teachers, basic amenities, and good  environment are required in the school premises.

A school in “Dharur Taluka” of Beed district in Maharashtra, was facing difficulty in conducting studies because of the frequent power cuts.

However, Kishore Bhagwat, an English language teacher in the school, came up with a unique idea to solve the problem and it worked like wonder.

He created an indigenous solar-powered amplifier out of scrap just for Rs 500.

To complete the project he used unused amplifier lying at school, 12-watt battery and a solar kit provided by education department. He assembled the parts and the amplifier started generating power for the morning assembly.

“To address a group of 500 students during the most important part of the school, the morning assembly, power cuts increasingly created trouble for us. So I took up this challenge and decided to provide some solution,” said Kishore Bhagwat.

Apart from morning assembly, the power generated from the amplifier is also been used for making classroom announcements, playing rhymes for primary students etc.

Mr. Kishore Bhagwat has showcased the project to the district education officials who recently visited the school. Impressed with the design, the officers have decided to replicate it across 50 Zila Parishad schools in the nearby region.
