India Yamaha Motors has launched the full-faired version of FZ25, named the Yamaha Fazer 25 at a price tag of Rs 1,29,335 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Yamaha Fazer 25 has been one of the highly anticipated launches of the year and after witnessing all those spied-shots leaks, we finally know how this 250cc bike looks like and can also come to a conclusion that it is a sports tourer and has the ergonomics befitting the same.
From the handlebar position to footpeg mounts, just about everything in Yamaha Fazer 25 hints towards a fairly relaxed riding posture. Also, the full-fairing helps the Yamaha Fazer 25 offer great wind protection to the rider from wind blasts while riding at high speeds.
Powering the Yamaha Fazer 25 is the same 250cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with SOHC fuel-injection and Blue Core technology, which we saw with the FZ25, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The engine gets an oil-cooler for enhanced heat dissipation as well as a fuel injection system for better response. The two-valve single-cylinder engine produces 20.9PS of peak power at 8,000rpm and delivers peak torque of 20Nm at as low as 6,000rpm.
While the 17-inch lightweight alloys wheels come shod with 100/80 section tyres at front and 140/70 section rear tubeless tyres, other features in Yamaha Fazer 25 include, LED Headlamps with AHO (automatic headlamp On), Chiseled Fuel Tank, split seats, grab rail, chrome-finished heat shield on the exhaust, and Black alloy wheels.
As far as the design is concerned, Yamaha Fazer 25 comes with a molded front apron and windscreen around FZ25’ existing LED headlights, and the mass-forward design gives Yamaha Fazer 25 a bulky feel which will delight many bike enthusiasts who like large proportions. While the designers have utilized the dual-tone color option cleverly, tank profile, the tail section, exhaust muffler and the fully digital instrument cluster with real-time mileage motor, has been carried forward from the naked sibling.
However, Yamaha Fazer 25 doesn’t come equipped with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) even as an option, which is contrary to the expectations considering the competition.
While the all-new Yamaha Fazer 25 will be offered in multiple dual-tone color options, Soulful Cyan (Grey and blue) and Rhythmic Red (Red and Gold), it will take on the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM Duke RC200, Honda CBR250R and the upcoming TVS Apache RR 310S.
