When the great Italian automobile maestro Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the trailblazing high end super luxury sports car in 1963, just how would he have known that the ripples of his magnanimous creation would reach far reaching corners of this world? Frankly, whosoever said that, “Keep going, for you never know how wide may the ripples of your creation reach,” was not bluffing.
A car brand that is revered worldwide for being a status of pride and speed is finally experiencing a great high in India in 2022.
And central to Lamborghini’s success in the heart of the Asian subcontinent is the fact that it’s taken the Emilia Romagna-based brand just a decade to become a symbol of resilience as also resounding success.
Now how is that?
If in case, you were wondering that the only sports car brand that was doing well for itself was none other than the legendary Enzo Ferrari-built Scuderia Ferrari, then think again!
This is just the beginning of 2022, as we’ve only entered the second quarter of what is a long long year ahead and there’s massive reason for celebration whether it’s Sicily that you talk about or New Delhi.
Ever since its inception in India, Lamborghini, as reported by trending current auto news, has managed to sell 400 car units. Make no mistake for this is no lame achievement; the Indian market happens to be the litmus test of many massive carmakers that instantly achieve whirlwind success elsewhere but survive only by the skin of their teeth in India.
While in the cricket world, 400 was a mega milestone for a certain Brian Lara of the West Indies, in the realm of sports cars, this is a solid feat for Lamborghini.
But there’s more to the renowned sports carmaker in India; the 400 units sold also points to a very healthy 86 per cent rise in the brand’s sales in the country, which is something home to ride about.
And in so doing, Lamborghini has even outdone close rivals- Porsche and Ferrari- in becoming the premier seller of sports cars in the region. As a matter of fact, even 2021 spelt good news for the Italian carmaker as it had succeeded in selling 300 units in India. Though, when examined from a standpoint of global sales and profits, then the year marked tremendous success; the precious brand registering an all-time high turnover of 1.95 billion Euros.
This time, the news is big and the achievement bigger, in the wake of 400 cars sold. That’s when there are eight full months left to go.
The biggest market for a Lamborghini, as on date, continues to be the United States. This is followed by Germany and China.
